Clinicians can dictate into the StenTel ASP (Application Service Provider) platform by means of a variety of sources.  This includes 800 number based telephone dictation, localized dictation servers, digital recorders, or existing 3rd party digital voice systems.

800 Number Dictation

Dictation via 800 number involves dialing a StenTel provided number, inputting numeric credentials for authentication, and then selecting the record dictation option from the user menu.  An unlimited number of demographics may be captured at the point of dictation by means of entry on the telephone keypad.  StenTel’s telephone dictation systems scale to handle hundreds of simultaneous callers at the same time.

Digital Recorders

StenTel provides Windows based secure audio transport software that automates the process of dictating via digital recorder.  Upon docking the digital recorder with the host PC, the StenTel StenRemote software application collects optional demographic information and securely uploads the audio to the StenTel system for processing.

3rd Party Digital Voice Systems

Clinicians with an existing Lanier, DVI, Dictaphone, WinScribe, or other digital voice recording system can continue to leverage their investment and still process work through the StenTel platform. StenTel can build a straightforward audio transfer process to route dictations to the StenTel application while preserving original file and demographic information.  Audio import modules and interoperability between the following formats:

  • DVI
  • Lanier VoiceLink™
  • Dictaphone iChart and Enterprise Express Voice System
  • Vianeta
  • Crescendo
  • most PDA formats
  • and over 100 others!
